Coach Gee
My name is Greig, but I usually answer to - Gee. A little bit about me: I’ve been training the CrossFit methodology since 2016, and been a coach since 2019. Despite having strength-trained since I was 16, I never felt ‘fit’. I couldn’t do a pullup; couldn’t run the length of myself; and squats? You mean leg press? I found CrossFit by chance, and never looked back. I’m still chasing virtuosity, and I’m always learning, but I love it. Dream WOD would include Heavy deadlifts, box jumps, skierg. Im a fan of Country music, pizza & coffee. Im not a fan of Overhead squats. My CrossFit goals? - 200kg deadlift, learn to love the rower, handstand, and sit the CFLv2. I'm delighted to be part of the CFG5 Coaching Team and love jumping in a Saturday morning team WOD, and chasing King Kilo around the gym. |
Coach Abby
With a Masters of Engineering in Product Design Engineering from Strathclyde Uni Abby is pursuing her dreams of working within the fitness industry, sharing her passion for health and fitness as a CF-LV1 at CFG5 and Fitness Coach at Aristos Fitness in Stewarton. With a background in Athletics (Discus and Shot Putt) & Cycling it quickly became apparent that these two sports did not compliment each other well. For throws, the focus was on power and speed; whereas cycling demanded a higher level of endurance and CV fitness. After a few years of juggling both, Abby found CrossFit in LKDN and switched to focus on this. Her athletics background lends itself to the weightlifting side of CrossFit, and the cycling experience aids the cardio and endurance aspects. 'There’s always something to work on and I’m loving every minute of my new fitness journey'. Abby has already competed at Castle Games, SFG & Rainhill and has a promising CF career ahead! |
Coach Chris
A BSc in sport and exercise and a PGCE in physical education Chris began playing rugby in high school and playing regularly until a few years ago when he found CrossFit and hung up the boots (except from the odd occasion)! 'CrossFit spoke to me on so many levels. The constantly varied programming and variety of skills and strength required gives me a constant challenge. The community aspect is second to none and I love catching up with everyone when I can. The methodology has me the fittest and strongest I have ever been and I love the competitive side. Last year Chris decided to follow his passion even further and completed the CrossFit level 1, CF Kids & British Weightlifting level 1. " I am so excited to become a part of the G5 community! I like to have fun and will be your biggest hype man and look forward to seeing you all at the whiteboard and giving out the obligatory fist bumps at the end of a WOD' |
