the good news is CrossFit® is for everyone! All our classes can be tailored to YOUR experience, fitness level & ability,
and the first thing we'd like to do is invite you to drop by and see us for as no pressure chat & look around the gym.
We love our home of 11 years - a 220 square metre railway arch in the New Gorbals, in the Southside (and easily walkable from Glasgow City Centre).
We are a proud U.K. Scottish CrossFit® Affiliate that uses principles of strength and conditioning, with everyday 'functional' movement and high intensity programming to make our members move better, and feel Healthier, Fitter & Stronger.
We offer CrossFit Classes, CrossFit Conditioning, Barbell Club & a weekend Team WOD as well as open gym and all our workouts can be scaled so anyone can get involved. and although it’s absolutely not implied, some of our athletes choose to compete in Individual, Pairs & Team competitions, as well as Olympic Lifting, 10km/Half Marathon & Marathon races, triathlons and Hyrox races!

Why we believe CrossFit is the best way to get in shape... |
Our monthly Membership is based on group Coach led sessions (often referred to as a WOD or workout of the day) which are programmed over a 5 day cycle. On Monday, Wednesday & Friday we have our CrossFit® class which may include strength specific sessions with heavier weights & Oly lifting. Metcon, or gymnastics/bodyweight movements. On Tuesday & Thursday we have our CrossFit Conditioning classes (basically fitness!) and with a focus on building endurance & stamina over longer time domains and at the weekend is our super popular Team WOD!
Like the demands of every day life, every day and every workout is different, you never know what to expect. Training is inclusive to all levels of fitness and always challenging. We pride ourselves on educating and maintaining good movement mechanics - quality & standards are paramount to what we do. essentially, we help you to move better, and as a result, feel better. At CrossFit G5, your safety and improved health is our first priority. Regardless of the time of day you train or the class you choose to join, you'll be excited, engaged and always having fun. CrossFit is the first line of better health & wellbeing...aHealth is super important to us. We believe that movement is life, using every day movement patterns in the way the body was designed to move, to help you improve your overall health & wellbeing and make you feel, look and are better able to approach each day that life demands.
We will also educate and support you to achieve the full spectrum of health - and we regard rest & recovery, sleep, nutrition, stress & activity as equally important factors. |
We use varying training modalities to challenge and progress you, at whatever fitness level you're at. Variety is the spice of life! You will face strengths & weaknesses head on, and at the same time be accountabvlew to a Coach.
You might work as an individual, with a partner or as part of a Team. Our workouts are either timed or we count reps (total number of movements completed). Sometimes the exercises in a WOD (Workout of the Day) are completed in the best time possible (Best Effort For Time known as BEFT), helping you to build a higher level of fitness, so you can see & monitor your progress over time. We feel that training is a two way relationship - accountability to each other to work on weakness as well as strengths. Why having a Coach is important...Form before load. Quality first. Some of the movements, especially those performed with a Barbell or on the rig are technical & complex, and every workout will certainly challenge you in a number of ways. That's why safety is always the first priority and every session will be coached at the whiteboard. The workouts are scalable, so irrelevant of your experience or level of fitness, you are guaranteed to get a challenging workout, that is within your capability.

We are often asked what the main difference is between CrossFit and commercial gyms or other group fitness classes like spin, and we feel its our focus on quality individual coaching and education. We believe it's important for us to show you not only HOW & WHY to perform movements safely & correctly, but also how to achieve maximum efficiency.
Over the past 11+ years we have formed life long friendships, shared highs & lows of life and supported each other when things gets tough.

We are adjacent to the Premier Inn Hotel, situated in a Railway Arch between the City Mosque and the City of Glasgow College, across from the Gorbals Co-operative and behind the Citizens Theatre.
